TESTIMONIALS

Shar’ron's classes are flexible learning for individualized practice. She gives information that everyone can use and how different poses can be changed to work for each student. I have been taking her classes for over a year and noticed how it has changed me. I am able to do things I never thought I could and over time gets easier and I keep learning more. During this time of stress it’s nice to have someone who takes my mind off of it and and helps me to adjust and except things.

Shar’ron Boren is an excellent Yin Yoga instructor. Clear and Direct language skills. Visual examples of poses are slow enough to follow. Hands on support if needed. Very encouraging for students. Shar’ron’s Class: Interesting Instructional Healing My Yin Yoga class is helping me to learn to relax and focus. I am learning to “polish my bones with breath! My mind, spirit and body feel much more alive and in “sync” with each other.

I like Shar’ron’s approachability, empathy, and philosophy. Her philosophy about being average has really helped set realistic goals for myself in many different parts of my life. I like that she asks the class what areas we want to work on before class and tailors the poses to the response. I also like how different poses are offered so each person can choose what feels best for their body in that moment. â€‹

The first time I took Shar’ron’s Yin Yoga class I was very unsure about what it was going to be like. I was used to vinyasa yoga and was not really feeling it at the end of the first class. After I got home though, I noticed that my pain level was reduced and I felt very loose and stretched out. I decided to try it again to see how it felt. The next time, I also felt less pain, my back was much looser, and my hips that are always hurting both felt better. As time went on, my flexibility has slowly increased. Even my acupuncturist can tell the difference when I do not go to Yin. She gives multiple poses or variations of a pose so people of all abilities and yoga backgrounds can fully participate in each class. In addition to the poses and instructions, Shar’ron emphasizes breathing and meditative techniques that help me stay focused, present, and in the moment. She taught me that it is ok to be average, a lesson that has greatly helped me not be so critical of myself as well as other people, and not to push myself to the point where I cause myself harm. I have noticed myself performing these same things throughout my regular day, and have been able to cut down on the frequency and severity of tension headaches. Shar’ron also brings samples of oils and creams she makes, and I have found them to be invaluable in pain management. Finally, Shar’ron always makes me feel welcome and wanted, and makes time to meet with every single member of her class. She is very genuine and caring, and this comes through in her practice. Because of Shar’ron’s Yin class, I have less pain, more flexibility, greater daily functioning, and an amazing friend as well. I have and will continue to recommend her class to friends, family, and anybody suffering from chronic health issues.

Shar’ron Boren’s teaching style is personal and individualized. She encourages students to modify and not try to overachieve (she often repeats “be a C student”). Three words I would use to describe Shar’ron’s yoga classes are peaceful, gentle, and adaptable. Since starting classes with Shar’ron, my flexibility has increased as has my ability to relax and “be in the moment.” Her sessions incorporate just the right amount of ease and effort.

Shar'ron's style of yoga is deeply relational. Not only does she get to know her students well, she encourages each student to relate well to themselves. Her flows and sequences and cues are meant to facilitate a deep  communication within the network of systems that is our human body. Three words to describe her yoga classes: Grace-filled, multi-sensory and somatically and spiritually effective. As Shar'ron's student, I long for the safe space she builds with essential oils, thoughtful tone and joy in my arrival. That is the beginning of the adventurous journey inward where I learn the power of microadjustments to the body and the spirit.  The care she gives to each posture inspires my practice toward patience and resilience. I leave her space cherishing my own uniqueness and the uniqueness of others. Her classes do nothing short of making the world a more hopeful place."

Shar’ron‘s classes provide a more thoughtful and targeted practice. In this time when most of us sit at a desk all day and are experiencing higher levels of stress, Shar’ron offers yoga and oil diffusion remedies to counteract the toll of our modern world. Her flows build strength, encourage mindfulness, and always include alternate poses for people experiencing unique challenges. I’ve been taking her classes for several month and have seen my health improve and my strength and flexibility increase. Perhaps most importantly, Shar’ron‘s classes have given me a new appreciation for my body—I have so much gratitude for the blessing of health and mobility, and I’ve come to love my body as it is. Her classes are careful, thoughtful, and intentional.

Empathetic. Wise. Strong.

Shar’ron’s practice has helped me to stay grounded during a time of uncertainty and chaos. As a teacher, I had to completely transform the way I reached my students. I went from hours of standing and walking to hours of sitting hunched over a computer. My back and shoulders were suffering. Shar’ron offered me yoga sessions that were tailored to my needs and kept me feeling human during a difficult time. Her stop-to-start approach is very grounding and helps me to set an intention for my practice and the rest of my day. Shar’ron’s personal experience with injuries informs her approach in supporting alignment and healing. No matter where my body is at on a given day - weak and lethargic, or ready for a good workout, I finish feeling energized and strong.

When Shar’ron first started classes at our athletic club several friends were talking about their impressions of the classes. They encouraged me to try. I had never done any yoga but decided to see what the fuss was about.  After the first class Shar’ron gave me some encouragement and said she hoped I would continue. The classes have become a mainstay for me. With The pandemic I have not felt I could attend classes in person, but Shar’ron made sure I had access to video classes. At my age, maintaining flexibility and balance are a major concern.  Shar’ron’s classes emphasize these as well as relaxation and breathing and have become a permanent part of my daily routine.
