Peppermint Essential oil



Top properties:

Anti-Inflammatory

Analgesic (pain reliever)

Warming

Cooling

Expectorant (used to help coughs)

Vasoconstrictor (the constrictioni of blood vessels which helps increase blood pressure)

Stimulating


Main benefits:

  • Invigorates, enlivens the senses

  • Promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing

  • Soothes the occasional upset stomach and promotes digestive health


Uses :

  • Massage into neck and shoulders to relieve feelings of tension

  • Add to cold water compress or a foot bath to cool off when overheated or dealing with a fever

  • Apply to bottom of feet if you have memory issues

  • Cravings ~ inhale under nose or take a drop on tongue before or between meals

  • Headaches or migraines: apply to temples above ears and back of neck

  • Asthma and sinuses: apply to chest and back or bottom of feet (fractionated coconut oil to dilute)

  • Add a drop to hot water for peppermint tea

  • Add a drop to cool water when you are going to be in a hot environment for a long period of time, to help keep you cool

  • Diffuse five drops peppermint oil when feeling fatigued or low energy

  • Place peppermint in a spray bottle and spritz around windows and doors to repel bugs naturally

  • Apply around navel when dealing with a stomachache

  • Loss of smell: inhale or apply diluted over bridge of nose

  • Take a drop in the mouth with water when dealing with a stomachache or before eating a heavy meals to help with digestion

  • Emotional balance: use aromatically and topically to get from hindered ——-> invigorated

Grapefruit , tangerine, wild orange, lavender, lemon
